SAM MCINTOSH

BRANCH SECRETARY

Sam McIntosh is the Branch Secretary of our TWU SA/NT Branch. 

Sam has vast experience working for transport unions, including working in the role of Branch Assistant Secretary of our SA/NT Branch, with the TWU’s National Office and for the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), based in London.

Throughout his career, Sam has led negotiations for national and state-based enterprise agreements with major transport companies and played a leading role in national and international campaigns to hold major industry clients to account for safety and fairness throughout their transport supply chains.

A member of the TWU’s National Committee of Management and a National Councillor, Sam is a Director of TWUSUPER, the superannuation fund for transport workers, and is a member of the South Australian Skills Commission’s ‘Transport & Logistics’ Industry Skills Council. 

Sam is a member of the State Executive of the South Australian Labor Party and has been admitted as a solicitor and barrister on the roll of the Supreme Court of South Australia. He also enjoys his role as Treasurer of his local community organisation Imagine Uraidla.

 

 

 

DANIEL MCNICOL

BRANCH PRESIDENT

Daniel McNicol is the Branch President of our TWU SA/NT Branch. 

He was elected in April 2024 after having served two years as Vice President, two years Branch Trustee and ten years as part of our Branch Committee of Management overall.

Daniel has been a truck driver for 25 years and a member of the Union for 20 years and a delegate for around 19 of those years, when his leadership qualities were identified by our late Branch Secretary Ian Smith. Prior to his current role as a truck driver with Team Global Express (and Toll), he began his career with textile company JB Lace before moving to Simmons Demolition in Adelaide and on to StarTrack, where he worked for 15 years.

While at StarTrack, Daniel was South Australia’s TWU representative during national enterprise agreement negotiations, where he fought for and won industry-leading rates of pay, income protection and improved rights for members around the country.

As a TWU delegate Daniel takes pride in supporting his workmates at Team Global Express and providing them with advice about their rights. 

 

 

 

JUSTIN LEWIS

BRANCH ASSISTANT SECRETARY

Justin Lewis is the Branch Assistant Secretary of our TWU SA/NT Branch. 

Justin Lewis is the Branch Assistant Secretary of our TWU SA/NT Branch.Justin commenced working for the TWU as a Recruitment Official before becoming an Organiser in 2015, looking after road transport workers and bus drivers. In 2018 he became a Senior Organiser and expanded his focus to the aviation sector. In addition to being our Branch Assistant Secretary he is also our TWU Superannuation Support Officer.

Justin started his career in transport driving tow trucks locally and then car transporters interstate. He first became involved with the union as an activist in 2010, signing up the majority of workers at Adelaide Car Express.

Justin's always been a passionate and active supporter of the labour movement. He brings a huge amount of experience, skill and energy to his role.
